The competition takes place within the preserved territory of the Ilha Grande State Park, featuring a landscape characterized by closed trails and uneven terrain. The event serves as a qualifying stage for the XTERRA World Championship and the Trail Run World Series.
The program includes a variety of disciplines focused on off-road performance:
- Full Distance Triathlon: Consisting of a 1500 m swim, 21 km mountain bike, and 10 km trail run.
- Trail Marathon: A 50 km off-road run.
- Trail Half Marathon: A 21 km off-road run.
- Trail Runs: Shorter distances of 5 km and 10 km.
- Open Water Swims: Distances of 500 m, 1000 m, and 1500 m.
- XTERRA Kids: A dedicated race for children.
The event village is located at Praia do Abraão. Due to the island's environmental preservation, there are no cars or airports on Ilha Grande. Access to the Vila do Abraão is typically managed via boat or speedboat from Conceição de Jacareí or Angra dos Reis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
