X&A 5K
The X&A 5K is an annual community event held in Deshler, Ohio. This race commemorates Xavier and Aidan Wensink by utilizing a course that follows the streets they ran over the years. The event begins and ends at Deshler Pirate Park. All proceeds from the event are donated to wellness projects within the Patrick Henry Community.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 5K (3.1 miles) run or walk
- 1 Mile memorial walk
- 1K kids fun run
The 5K event offers both timed and untimed registration options. Dave's Running provides chip timing technology for those who opt for a timed bib. The kids fun run covers a one square block distance. Children participating in the fun run receive a medal, a tribute wristband, and snacks including Skittles and cosmic brownies.
Registered 5K participants are eligible for door prizes. Following the conclusion of the races, a pancake breakfast is served to attendees. Participants who register by June 15 receive a shirt and a commemorative wristband; however, registration on the day of the race does not include a shirt.
