WWII Veterans Memorial Trail Weighted Race - October 18, 2025
The event is the 2nd annual weighted race held in Mansfield, MA on the WWII Veterans Memorial Trail. The trail is dedicated to the men and women who traveled the former Old Colony Railroad Line from Camp Myles Standish in Taunton to the Boston port of embarkation. The format gives participants a six-hour time limit to complete as many laps as they can on the course.
Course and scoring
The course is a 2.5 mile out-and-back on a rail trail with paved, gravel and grass surfaces. Participants carry a chosen load each lap and are weighed at the start and finish of each lap; the lower of the two recorded weights for that lap is used to calculate the score. Distance for each lap is multiplied by the weight carried to produce a pound-mile score, called a Kz. The total Kz across all completed laps determines placement within divisions. Participants may change the weight they carry between laps. The final lap must be completed before the six-hour clock expires for that lap to count.
