Worlds End Ultramarathon
The Worlds End Ultramarathon is a trail running event in Forksville, Pennsylvania that uses the Loyalsock Trail, Loyalsock State Forest and Worlds End State Park in the Endless Mountains. It offers two distances:
- 100k
- 50k
The courses are largely rugged, scenic single-track with remote sections, waterfalls, rock formations, narrow gorges and multiple overlooks. The 100k route includes sustained steep sections and many shorter climbs that add to a total elevation gain of about 12,000 feet. The steepest sustained climb on the course is around 1,000 rocky feet. The 50k follows much of the same route but returns earlier, covering roughly half the distance and about 5,800 feet of elevation gain.
Support on course varies by distance. The 100k has 13 aid stations, four crew accessible aid stations and three pacer exchange locations. The 100k is part of the Pennsylvania Triple Crown of Mountain Running and requires a qualifying result before registration; at minimum a completed 50k trail race within the advertised cut-off time in the prior three years, subject to review. The 50k has six aid stations, no crew access and no pacers permitted, with a 12 hour time limit.
Race capacity is limited to 200 entrants. Registration uses RunSignUp, opens December 6, 2025 at 6:00 PM, and the listed entry fees are $105 for the 50k and $195 for the 100k, plus registration fees.
Post race food includes homemade soups, chili, pulled pork and other options for meat eaters and those preferring vegetarian or vegan choices.
