Woodhouse Eaves May Day Dash
The Woodhouse Eaves May Day Dash is the inaugural Woodhouse Eaves Scout Group race of about 11 km held around the village and surrounding Charnwood countryside. The event is organised to raise funds for the Scout Group and is based at the Village Hall car park in Woodhouse Eaves.
The route leaves Woodhouse Eaves, crosses fields to Swithland and passes through Swithland Woods. After skirting Bradgate Park the course goes down through Lingdale Golf Course and returns to Woodhouse Eaves via Windmill Hill. The route is mainly off road on uneven terrain using bridleways and public footpaths and includes about 300 m of elevation. There are some marshalled road crossings along the course and a manned water station en route. First aid support will be available.
Facilities include a secure bag drop and toilet facilities at the start and finish. Refreshments are provided at the end including teas and coffees, cakes and a BBQ. All ages are welcome but U16s must be accompanied by an adult. There will be a tail walker and a two hour cut off limit. Dogs are not allowed because the route passes through fields where livestock may be present. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
