Wolwespruit Orienteering
Wolwespruit Orienteering is an orienteering event at Wolwespruit Bike and Trail Park in Pretoria, Gauteng. It is part of the Gauteng Bush Orienteering Series and the 2026 Gauteng Orienteering calendar. Entries are available for individuals and for teams of 2 to 4 in some classes. The event entry fee includes the Wolwespruit Trail Park day visitor fee. A typical age range for participants is 12 and up.
The competition area is a wooded kloof with steep rocky slopes, mixed wattle forests, grasslands and indigenous suikerbossie woodland. An intricate network of mountain biking and trail running paths runs through the area. Registration and finish are near the PLTFRM and Boma Restaurants, which include a children’s play park. There will be water points on course but participants are encouraged to carry their own water. Course distances are currently estimated and may change slightly; final course details will be sent to pre-entered competitors on Friday 10 July 2026.

- Brown Course (approx. 8 km) - technical navigation for experienced orienteers.
- Blue Course (approx. 6 km) - slightly shorter, for experienced orienteers.
- Red Course (approx. 6 km) - easy navigation, entirely on trails for trail runners.
- Green Course (approx. 5 km) - moderate navigation for intermediate orienteers.
- Light Green Course (approx. 4 km) - moderate navigation for novice orienteers.
- Orange Course (approx. 2.5 km) - easy introduction for novice or teenage participants.
- Yellow Course (approx. 1 km) - very short and easy for smaller kids; only course enterable on the day for R20.
