Wolf Run Series - Running Wolf 2026

The Wolf Run Series features the Running Wolf route near Stanford, Montana. This point-to-point course begins in the Little Belt Mountains and consists of a mostly downhill path for the first 9 miles. The route then turns right to incorporate steep climbs before reaching the finish line. The event offers options for both runners and cyclists, with participants transported by bus from the meeting location at 3117 Mountain View Road to the official starting points.

Available distances and categories include:

  • 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon Run)
  • 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon Bike)
  • 3.1 Miles (5K Run)
  • 1 Mile (Family Fun Run/Walk)

The 5K route follows a course of rolling hills on a maintained gravel county road. The one-mile event takes place on a flat, family-friendly course that shares the same route as the longer races. Proceeds from the event support the Basin Wellness Center project in Judith Basin County.

Participants receive a t-shirt and a swag bag if registered by the specified deadline. The event includes water stations along the half marathon route and at the finish line, with medical support available on-site. Awards are presented to first and second place finishers in each race, and participants are eligible for door prizes. The race weekend takes place alongside the CMR Stampede, which features a rodeo, music festival, and western barbecue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
