About the race
The Witteberg Mountain Challenge is a trail-running event set in the Witteberg mountains around Lady Grey, Eastern Cape, on 26 September 2026. The event is based at the Lady Grey Country Club and offers mountain trail running with local food stalls, live music and kids entertainment during the weekend.
Distances offered:
- 5 km Fun Run with finisher medal and drink.
- 10 km Trail Run with goody bag, finisher medal and drink.
- 24 km Mountain Challenge including Friday night meal, branded race garment, goody bag and finisher item.
- 50 km Ultimate Beast including Friday night meal, branded race garment, goody bag, finisher item and a GPX file for self navigation.
Race features include well-marked routes and safety protocols. There are no waterpoints on course; participants must carry sufficient water or energy drinks. Some categories include a Friday night meal; additional meals are available for purchase in advance. Entry fees are listed per distance in the event information.
