WIT 5K on International Day of the Girl Child
Women In Training, Inc. (WIT), a volunteer-driven youth empowerment nonprofit founded in July 2019, holds the 7th Annual WIT 5K event on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Blount Cultural Park in Montgomery, Alabama. The event raises funds for the WITKITS campaign to distribute menstrual, dental, and hygiene supplies, and to provide menstrual education and leadership opportunities to underserved girls.
Event options:
- 3.1 miles WIT 5K Run/Walk (timed, awards)
- 1 mile WIT Fun Walk
- 3.1 miles Virtual WIT 5K Run/Walk
Virtual participants may complete the 5K between August 26, 2026, and October 11, 2026; shirt, bib, and medal are mailed to virtual registrants and results may be submitted online. Registration fees listed for the events are $30 for the 5K and virtual 5K, and $20 for the 1 mile fun walk. To guarantee a race t-shirt in a requested size, registration should be completed by October 1, 2026.
Packet pickup is available Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and on race day at Blount Cultural Park. All 5K participants receive a participant medal. In-person 5K overall male and female winners receive trophies and age group winners receive medals; age groups run 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
