Event overview
The 6th Annual WIT 5K at Montgomery Whitewater takes place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in Montgomery, Alabama. The event is organized by Women In Training, Inc. (WIT), a volunteer-driven youth empowerment nonprofit that raises funds to end period poverty. Proceeds support the WITKITS campaign to provide menstrual, dental and hygiene supplies, plus menstrual education and leadership opportunities, to underserved girls. Since July 2019, WIT has distributed more than 50,000 WITKITS in Alabama.
Race events and awards
The event includes the following:
- 5K (3.1 mile) Run/Walk : entry price listed at $30, youth price $10 (ages 7-18)
- 1 Mile Fun Walk : entry price listed at $20, youth price $10 (ages 7-18)
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk : entry price listed at $30; shirt, bib and medal are mailed to virtual participants
All 5K participants, in-person or virtual, receive a participant medal. In-person overall winners for the 5K (men and women) receive trophies; age group winners receive special medals in addition to participant medals. Age groups for awards are 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
