Winter Trail Frosty

Winter Trail Frosty

Winter Trail Frosty takes place on February 20, 2027 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. The event is the 12th annual running of the winter trail races and includes two distance options:

• Half Marathon - two laps of the 6.55 mile single track loop
• Quarter Marathon - one lap of the 6.55 mile single track loop

The loop is nearly all single track trail and is laid out so organizers can see runners frequently to manage safety and security. Each 6.55 mile loop includes two water stops; half marathon entrants have an additional stop at the start and finish. Each stop provides water and Gatorade or an equivalent beverage.

All distances are chip timed using the RaceResult bib tag system; timing chips attach to the back of the bib and are disposable. Results are posted immediately online. Top three overall awards are presented as soon as the third place male and female finish. Age group awards are given to the top three males and females in these brackets: 12-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Race amenities include a heavy duty finisher medal, optional super soft long sleeve race shirts, free downloadable race photos, and a limited field with wave starts to spread out runners. Parking is available in the park and porta-potties are located at the start/finish and each aid station. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Headphones are discouraged but allowed provided one ear remains free. The event is live and in-person only; entries are non refundable and non deferrable, though bib transfers are permitted within the stated transfer deadlines.
