Wings for Life World Run - Nottingham
The Wings for Life World Run takes place at the University of Nottingham Park Campus. This unique event uses a moving finish line format facilitated by the Wings for Life World Run App. Participants run or roll in a common direction until they are overtaken by a Virtual Catcher Car.
The route begins at the David Ross Sports Village and moves through the green spaces of the university campus. The course features tree-lined paths and wide lawns, passing through the heart of Highfields Park. Participants loop around a lake and pass the historic Trent Building as part of the scenic campus circuit.
Participants must download the specific mobile app to take part in the event. The Virtual Catcher Car starts 30 minutes after the initial signal at a speed of 14 km/h. It periodically increases its pace until the final participant has been reached. Red Bull refreshment stations providing water and food are located along the course to support runners and wheelchair users.
The event is fully accessible for wheelchair participants. All entry fees and donations are directed toward spinal cord research projects through the Wings for Life foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
