Wimbledon Common Night-O - 3 November 2026
The first race of South London Orienteers' 2026-2027 night series takes place on Wimbledon Common in south west London on Tuesday 3 November 2026. The race centre is at The Crooked Billet, SW19 4RQ. The pub serves food and drink and kit may be left there at competitors' own risk. Entries are online only and competitors may go directly to the start; all competitors must return to the pub to download.
Registration and entry are via SiEntries. Entries remain open until 19:25 on the day subject to map availability. Entry fees are £6 for SLOW members, students and juniors, and £8 for others. The event uses both SIAC contactless and SI electronic punching. SIAC cards are available to hire for £2. A small number of headlamps can be borrowed free with advance reservation. Whistles are mandatory and can be borrowed from The Crooked Billet.
Wimbledon Common offers varied and relatively technical terrain. Courses offered:
- Long: approximately 5 km, quite challenging
- Short: approximately 2.5 km, quite challenging
Neither course crosses major roads; the route to the start and the return from the finish cross minor roads. Full leg cover is strongly recommended. All competitors take part at their own risk; non members of British Orienteering are not covered by British Orienteering public liability insurance.
