Wimbledon 10K
Wimbledon 10K is a road race that starts and finishes at Wimbledon Common next to Rushmere Pond in SW19. The course runs through streets of Wimbledon and is organised by RunUk as a chip timed 10 km event.
The event uses chip timing and posts results as soon as a runner crosses the finish line. All finishers receive a medal and post race refreshments including water, juices, fruit and a chocolate bar. An official race photographer will be active around the course.
Facilities at the race headquarters near Rushmere Pond / Kings College include a cordoned free baggage drop and toilets at the start and finish area. The organisers advise against storing valuables in the baggage area. A medical team is situated at the start area. There is a pre-race warm up of around ten minutes before the start.
The venue is accessible by public transport and by car. The nearest station is Wimbledon; from there a 93 bus serves the War Memorial stop, or it is approximately a twenty minute walk via Wimbledon Hill Road and High Street to the War Memorial. Metered parking is available around Ridgeway and surrounding side roads; participants are asked to avoid parking too close to race headquarters and to consider local residents when arriving and departing.
