46th Annual Wild Goose Chase - Vanderhoof Community Foundation Fundraiser
The event takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Vanderhoof, British Columbia. It is the 46th edition and a fundraiser for the Vanderhoof Community Foundation. Registration closes at midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026. No late registrations and no day of registrations.
All registered runners and walkers must participate on foot. Strollers, bikes, scooters, and similar are not permitted for registered runners or walkers unless the person in the stroller is added to the registration and a waiver is completed.
Race number pickup is scheduled from 8:45 to 9:30 am. Age is calculated as of December 31, 2026.
Distances offered
- 3.5 km run
- 8 km run
- 5 km walk only
The 3.5 km run has male and female age categories: 8 and under, 9 to 12, 13 to 15, 16 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60+. The 8 km run has male and female categories 16 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60+ and a 65 minute time limit. The 5 km event is walk only with no jogging or running, male and female all ages, and a 65 minute time limit.
Awards include male and female first overall in all three races receiving $25 and new running socks, medals for the top three in each age group, medals for all youth age 8 and under, and numerous door prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
