Whyalla Running Festival
The Whyalla Running Festival takes place on Sunday, 9 August 2026 at the Whyalla foreshore. The event offers multiple race distances and a program of activities before and during race day.

All distances follow flat out and back loops that return via the foreshore and include a lap of the jetty. The half marathon consists of two laps of the 10.5 km course. The course is supported with water points and marshals along the route.
Event logistics include road closures and parking restrictions on Beach Road, with parking available near the Foreshore motel off Neagle Terrace, around the Ada Ryan Gardens and in the carpark east of the Beach cafe. A registration tent will be manned for the duration of the event and can be used to leave bags. The event is timed with bibs required to be pinned to the front of the top; results are posted online immediately after crossing the finish line.
Walkers may enter any distance, though there is no separate walking category. Entrants may change to a longer distance on the morning by paying any entry difference and late fees; no refunds are given for switching to a shorter event. All participants receive a Whyalla Running Festival medal. Prizes are awarded across age categories and there are additional random prizes. Fruit and water are provided at the finish.
