White Tank Throwdown
The White Tank Throwdown is a grassroots, runner-organized trail event held in White Tank Mountain Regional Park near Waddell, AZ on January 23, 2027. Routes start and finish at the group camping parking area on 20204 W White Tank Mountain Road and follow well-marked trails through the park.
The courses combine fast, flowing perimeter singletrack with rugged mountain sections. Expect technical climbs, sandy washes, light scrambling over rocky sections, and Sonoran Desert views. Wildflowers appear in season. Hydration is self-supported; participants must carry a bottle or cup because disposable cups are not provided. Drop bags are allowed at the start/finish. Distances
- 30K: 30 kilometers on perimeter and canyon trails
- 10K: 10 kilometers on smoother perimeter and Ford Canyon trails
Event details by distance: the 30K includes roughly 2,500 ft of gain and has two aid stations total, with one remote aid in Mesquite Canyon about 8.6 miles into the course and a second aid through the start/finish at about 15.6 miles; the 30K has a 6-hour cutoff. The 10K includes roughly 600 ft of gain, a single mid-route aid at the start/finish perimeter, and a 3-hour cutoff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
