Event Overview
The Wheel Run for Meals is a running and walking event that benefits the Beloit Meals on Wheels organization. It takes place in Beloit, Wisconsin.
Distances
The event offers two distances:
- 10K run
- 5K run/walk
Both events start together in waves.
Course Details
The course begins at the corner of Maple Avenue and Shore Drive. It proceeds over the Ken Hendricks Memorial Bridge and onto the Steve Gregg Memorial Path along the Rock River, continuing to Riverside Park before turning back. The route is described as scenic, flat, and fast.
Logistics
The event uses chip timing. All registration is online; there is no in-person registration. Ample free parking is available at the Beloit Meals on Wheels office (1534 Shore Drive) or within three blocks of the start/finish line.
Packet pickup is available the day before the event (May 15th) from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and on event day from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. Both pickups are at the Beloit Meals on Wheels office. Registration is open on event day from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM.
Awards
Awards are given for both distances:
- First, second, and third place male and female finishers in each age group.
- Top overall male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K each receive $100.
Fees and Proceeds
Entry fees increase over time:
- Early registration (by March 15): $25 for adults, $15 for children under 17.
- By April 15: $30 for adults.
- By May 15: $35 for adults.
- On event day: $45 for adults, $20 for children.
A race t-shirt is included with registration if ordered before May 1. Extra t-shirts can be purchased for $20, with orders also due by May 1. The registration fee is non-refundable in case of event cancellation due to weather. All proceeds benefit Beloit Meals on Wheels, Inc.
Rules and Information
No rollerblades, skateboards, strollers, or pets are allowed on the course. Race results will be posted on the websites for Beloit Meals on Wheels and J3 Timing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
