Wheel Run for Meals
Wheel Run for Meals is a chip timed community running event in Beloit, Wisconsin that benefits Beloit Meals on Wheels. The event offers a 10K run and a 5K run/walk from a start area at 1534 Shore Drive, at the corner of Maple Avenue and Shore Drive.
The course is described as scenic and very flat. The route crosses the Ken Hendricks Memorial Bridge, follows the Steve Gregg Memorial Path along the Rock River to Riverside Park, and returns to the start area.
Distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
Awards are given for 1st through 3rd place male and female finishers by age group in both distances. The top male and female overall finishers in each race receive a $100 prize. Entry fees follow tiered pricing by date, with higher fees for later registration and increased amounts on race day. Optional extra race shirts are available for $20 if ordered by May 1. All registrations are online only; there is no in-person registration.
If the event is canceled for inclement weather, registration fees are not refunded. The organizer states that 100 percent of proceeds benefit Beloit Meals on Wheels. Packet pickup takes place at the Beloit Meals on Wheels office the day before and on event day. Free parking is available at the office and nearby. No rollerblades, skateboards, strollers or pets are allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
