Whaleathon
The Whaleathon is a full marathon made up of many very short laps around a traffic roundabout in Salt Lake City. Runners complete a 0.04-mile loop for a total of 630 laps, which equals 26.2 miles. The loop goes around the Out of the Blue roundabout at 900 S 1100 E, SLC, UT 84105.
The event was first completed in October 2023. An officially sanctioned Whaleathon is scheduled for October 24, 2026, and that iteration will feature the newly painted "Open Your Eyes" mural. The Whaleathon can also be completed outside the scheduled date as an informal or self-directed attempt.
