Event overview
The Western Pleasure Snowshoe Roundup takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Western Pleasure Guest Ranch near Sandpoint, ID (1413 Upper Gold Creek Rd.). This is the 13th anniversary edition. The event offers timed and untimed snowshoe races and a recreational category with self-start entries. No prior experience is required. Rooms are available at the ranch for out of town guests.

- 10K
- 5K
- Buckaroo - short untimed race for racers 6 and under
Courses run through hills, meadows, forest, and open areas. Course surfaces may be machine groomed, snowshoe groomed, or a combination. A recreational category is untimed and self-start; recreational participants have access to aid stations and finisher's awards but not placement awards.
Competitive rules and awards:
- Competitive racers must follow snowshoe size requirements for racing: no smaller than 7 in x 20 in for adults; this does not apply to recreation categories.
- Placement awards are given to the first three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K.
- All finishers in all races receive finisher's awards.
- Racers 12 and under race free. A limited number of kids' snowshoes will be available for Buckaroo racers on a first-come basis at no charge.
Number pickup and race day registration are handled in the lodge. Hot soup and beverages are available for purchase. Participants 7 and older must register online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
