Course and logistics
The route starts beside the river next to the Morrison’s car park in Taunton (TA1 1DX) and finishes at West Somerset College, Bircham Road, Minehead (TA24 6AY). The first 15 miles follow the Taunton to Bridgwater Canal Path and are very flat. The course then follows the River Parrett Trail, passes Steart Marshes, includes a diversion around Hinkley Point, and runs past the limestone formations at Lilstock and Kilve beaches. The later section goes inland via West Quantoxhead, through pine forest to Williton, then down to Watchet and along the coast path to Blue Anchor and Dunster Beach before the final approach to Minehead.
There are six aid stations with water, drinks and solid food. This is a cupless race; runners must carry at least one 500 ml water bottle and any cup they need. Professional medical cover is provided. A GPX file will be issued with the race information. Coach transport from the finish to registration is available for a small extra fee.
