Event Overview

The West Virginia Trilogy is a three-day series of trail runs held along the Eastern Continental Divide in the Monongahela National Forest. The event takes place during the Columbus Day weekend in October, with race headquarters situated at the 400-acre Spruce Knob Mountain Center. This outdoor education facility is located near Circleville, West Virginia, in the shadow of Spruce Knob, the highest point in the state.

The race course traverses the Spruce Knob - Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. This autumn event is organized by the West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners and provides participants with a sequence of three different distances over consecutive days.

Course Distances

Participants can take part in three distinct events over the course of the weekend:

  • 50 Kilometers on the first day
  • 50 Miles on the second day
  • 13.1 Miles on the final day

The setting is characterized by its wild landscape and mountain terrain within the national forest. Registration for the event typically opens in May, and the race utilizes the trails and natural features of Spruce Mountain and the surrounding recreation area.
