West Valley Vet Run
The West Valley Vet Run is a community running event held at Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale, Arizona on November 7, 2026. The program includes a timed 5K and a relaxed 1 mile run/walk that accommodates families and casual participants.
The event supports student veterans: 100 percent of proceeds benefit the Dr. Ernest Lara - EMCC Veterans Scholarship Fund to help student veterans with the cost of higher education. The first 400 registrants receive a finisher's medal. Veterans and military participants are offered a registration discount.
On-site activities are family-oriented. The City of Avondale Police and Fire Departments will host interactive activities for children. Frios will serve gourmet popsicles free for the first 100 guests, and Modern Grind will offer free coffee and treats. Pets are not allowed to participate in the run.
Packet pick up is scheduled at EMCC the day before the event in Parking Lot A, in front of Estrella Hall by the book drop. Race placements and a veterans ceremony are held on site after the runs.
