About the race
King & Spalding's West U Halloween Dash and Kids' Fun Run takes place in West University Place on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The event marks its 15th anniversary and includes a competitive 5K and a separate Kids' Fun Run of one mile. The 5K is chip timed and USATF certified; the course is described as flat and runs on the tree-lined streets of West University Place with six turns.

Registration uses tiered pricing with early, regular, and late rates for both the 5K and the Kids' Fun Run. Packet pickup is scheduled for October 29 and October 30 at Higginbotham, 6115 Edloe St. #E, Houston. There is a separate stroller and dog division that has its own start and its own division awards; entrants in that division are not eligible for overall or age-group awards. Bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and skateboards are not permitted.
All proceeds benefit the City of West U Parks and Recreation Department. The event includes a costume contest with categories for best female, best male, best couple, and best child.
