Werewolf Chase Free Fun Run

The Werewolf Chase Free Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The event starts and finishes at Fort Wayne Outfitters, 1004 Cass St, and uses the downtown Fort Wayne trail network. The main course distance is 3 miles and the course is wheelchair friendly.

Format and logistics

Participants wear flag football belts supplied by the event crew. Runners, walkers and strollers start together and receive a five-minute head start; werewolf chasers are released after that head start and try to catch participants before the end of the course. There is no aid station on the course. Water and snacks are provided at the start/finish area. At the finish line participants return their belts; those who finish with both flags receive candy and a fun medal. Prizes are listed for fastest and best-dressed runners, and there are age group awards for top youth finishers in these divisions: 7 and under, 8-11, 12-17, and 18 and over.

Packet pickup and event activities take place over the weekend, with packet pickup available at Fort Wayne Outfitters & Bike Depot. The UAW Local 2209 Community Service Committee will collect non-perishable food donations at the event for local food lockers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
