We Run This City - Dryden
We Run This City is a set of community running events presented as part of Dryden Fall Fest. The event offers multiple race options and aims to promote a healthy and active community. Registration fees collected are donated to local causes each year.
Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
- Costume 5 km walk/run
- 1 km Kids fun run (free for children and their companion)
The event reports donations and gifts made from proceeds in past years, with specific examples including: November 2025 : $3,000 to Dryden Minor Softball; May 2025 : proceeds to the Sunshine Bowlers Special Olympics; December 2024 : $3,500 to the Sunset Gymnastics Club; January 2024 : $1,000 gifted to the City of Dryden for pool waterslide rehabilitation; 2023 : $3,000 to Dryden Dog Park; 2022 : an AED gifted to the Dryden Recreation Centre; and 2018 : $2,000 to the Ghost Lake & Mavis Lake Trails Alliance.
Local businesses and community groups are acknowledged as sponsors. The broader festival mission is to create free local events that are accessible to community members and to use well-known Dryden locations to encourage public use of outdoor green spaces in northwestern Ontario.
