About the race
Waverley Plaza hosts a community 5 km fun run and walk that starts and finishes outside Wimpy Waverley Plaza on Hertzog Street, Waverley, Pretoria. Entry is by pre‑entry only through Quicket with a fee of R30; all entry fees will be donated to the Run Walk for Life club. A maximum of 300 entries will be accepted and entries close once that limit is reached or by the stated deadline. The event is informal and will not be officially timed; no official results will be published.
The 5 km course has a time limit of 60 minutes with cut-offs at 1 km and 2 km. Water will be available at the finish only; there is no water on the route. Entry cards must be worn visibly on the front of clothing and can be collected before the event at Wimpy Waverley or on the event day at the specified collection point.
Spot prizes will be awarded on the day. Participants are responsible for their own medical fitness; participation is at each person’s own risk. Medical assistance will be available and parking is at own risk. Marshals and traffic officials must be obeyed.
No mechanically operated devices, wheelchairs, animals, iPods, or other listening devices are permitted. There are no tog bag facilities. Children must be accompanied by a parent at all times and attendees are asked not to litter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
