Waushara Run for Hope 5k & 1 Mile
Hosted in Wautoma, Wisconsin, the Waushara Run for Hope is an event focused on suicide prevention and awareness. The race utilizes electronic timing for participants across several distances and categories.
The available distances include:
- 3.1 Miles (5k Run / Walk)
- 1 Mile (Stroll for Hope)
- 3.1 Miles (Virtual 5k)
Participants in the 3.1 Miles race are eligible for overall male and female awards, as well as age group awards. The 1 Mile event also provides overall awards for the top male and female finishers. All participants receive a finisher medal and a t-shirt, though t-shirts are only guaranteed for those who register by early May.
The event allows for pet participation. A specific registration option exists for pets in the 3.1 Miles distance which includes a finisher medal and a pet scarf. While pets and strollers are allowed in both the 3.1 Miles and 1 Mile events without special registration, these participants are required to start behind the other runners and walkers.
For those unable to attend the physical location at 380 S Townline Rd, a virtual option is available. Virtual participants must submit their timing and complete their run between May 1 and May 17. In-person registration is available on the day of the event via cash or check. All medals and shirts for virtual participants or those who missed pick-up are available at the Public Health Office on designated dates in late May.
