Washpool World Heritage Trails
Washpool World Heritage Trails is a trail running event held at Mulligans Campground in Gibraltar Range National Park, NSW on 3 to 4 April 2027. Courses run through World Heritage listed Washpool and Gibraltar Range National Parks and pass rainforests, granite outcrops, creeks and the Tree Fern Forest Walk.
The event offers three distances:
- 50 km Ultra : minimum age 18; +1,250 m ascent; 2 ITRA points
- 25 km : minimum age 14; +450 m ascent; 1 ITRA point
- 9 km : minimum age 12; +240 m ascent; 1 ITRA point
Aid stations are located on the 50 km and 25 km courses, with toilets and some drop bag locations at specified stations and the finish. The event is cupless so runners must bring a reusable cup or soft flask. Mandatory gear is checked at bib collection and must be carried on course; required items include water capacity, emergency food, snake bandage, space blanket, whistle and a charged mobile phone with offline maps. There is no phone reception across the course.
Parking at Mulligans Campground is limited and a National Park day use fee is payable in cash on arrival. Camping options include free undesignated walk in sites and designated sites bookable via NPWS. Timing is manual and finishers receive a Washpool World Heritage Trails hat rather than a medal. No prior qualification is required to enter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
