Wapiti Nordic Running Race - DGLW 2026
The event takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Wapiti Nordic XCountry Ski Centre near Grande Prairie, AB. Courses use dirt, sand and forest trails and include a mix of rolling and steep hills. Trails are suitable for spikes or flats.
All distances are complete loops except the 42 km which runs the half course forward and then backward. For 10 km, 21 km and 42 km entrants there is a navigation requirement: find the book on the trail and return the page that matches the bib number.
Distances offered
- 400 m free for children
- 3 km forest trails
- 5 km forest trails
- 10 km 5 km forest then very hilly lower 5 km
- 21 km flowy north trails then join the 10 km course
- 42 km run the 21 km course forward and backward
Finishing medals are provided to all participants. Ribbons or medals are awarded to the top three in each category. Top finishers receive prizes and all participants are entered in draw prizes. Timing is recorded by volunteers and participants are encouraged to self time. Water stations and post race refreshments are provided. Race day registration is not available. Washroom facilities are limited and pets are not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
