2026 Wapiti Bush Run
The Wapiti Bush Run takes place on the Gronlid Cross Country Ski Trails inside Fort à la Corne Island Forest in Saskatchewan. The event uses maintained trail networks that include sandy singletrack, ridges, mixed woodland and boreal forest. The Melfort Cross Country Ski Club maintains nearly 20 km of trails year round.
Courses offered:
- 2.0 km Wild Ones Fun Run Cabin Trail to Skate Trail loop about 2.5 km with little elevation
- 5.5 km Race/Run/Jog Ridge Trail to Skate Trail, includes a climb to the Ridge top and mixed forest
- 8.5 km Race/Run/Jog Ridge Trail to Jackpine Trail to Skate Trail, hilly with rolling sections
Early Bird and General registrations for adult and youth entries include a hot lunch with dessert, a beverage, and a swag bag with a Wapiti Bush Run toque; late registrations may not include swag. Race packages are available for pickup the morning of the event and a pre‑race briefing will be held at the start line. Post‑race refreshments are provided at the finish line and a luncheon is held at Gronlid Hall for registered diners. Awards for top finishers in the 8.5 km and 5.5 km distances and other special awards are presented after the race.
All registrations are final; optional registration refund protection is available through the race registration platform. The event is sanctioned by Saskatchewan Athletics. Outdoor bathroom facilities are on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
