11th Annual Walk|Run for Kids 2026
The event on October 3, 2026 raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities of El Paso to support families of seriously ill children receiving care at area hospitals in El Paso and Las Cruces. The in person activities take place at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino, 1200 Futurity Drive, Sunland Park, NM 88063.
Distances offered include:
- 1 mile Fun Walk (in person)
- 5K Run (in person)
- 1 mile Fun Walk (virtual)
- 5K Run (virtual)
Online registration supports individual entries, team creation, and joining existing teams. Early bird registration was extended through August 16, 2026; regular registration extended through September 21, 2026. T shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by September 14, 2026. Late online registration runs September 22 to September 30, with last minute online registration on October 1 and October 2. There will be no onsite registration the day of the event.
Swag bags are limited and T shirt pickup is available at Ronald McDonald House on October 1 and October 2 from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Team bags may be collected by a single representative; larger packet pickups were asked to call ahead.
Medals will be awarded to first through third place male and female finishers in these age groups: 12 and under, 13 to 17, 18 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Event challenges include Best Dressed Pet, Best Dressed Team, and a Largest Team trophy; past largest teams have recruited more than 100 members.
