11th Annual Walk|Run for Kids 2026
The event on October 3, 2026 takes place at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino in Sunland Park, New Mexico, and also offers virtual participation options. Proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House of El Paso and support programs that help seriously ill children and their families who receive medical care at area hospitals.
Distances offered include:
- 1 Mile Fun Walk (in-person and virtual options)
- 5K Run (in-person and virtual options)
Registration is available as individual entry or as part of a team. Early bird, regular, and late online registration windows are defined; participants who register by September 14, 2026 are guaranteed an official event T-shirt and a swag bag subject to availability. The standard registration fee listed for each event option is $20. Virtual participants receive instructions in their event confirmation on how to download a digital race bib.
Awards and event features include medals for first through third place male and female finishers across multiple age groups: 12 and under, 13 to 17, 18 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Additional event activities include Best Dressed Pet, Best Dressed Team, and a Largest Team challenge. Swag bag pickup is scheduled at Ronald McDonald House on the days prior to the event.
