About the race
A running event around Brno Reservoir (Brněnská přehrada, Kozí horka) held in autumn close to the centre of Brno. The main loop is 14.1 km; if the dam is closed the course is extended to 15.6 km. Participants are transported by boat to the race venue and there are three refreshment stations available along the course.
The event includes several formats:
- Individuals - full loop 14.1 km or 15.6 km if the dam is closed.
- Steamboat relay - 2 × 7 km or 7 + 8.5 km if the dam is closed; limited to 200 relay teams.
- Teams - four-person teams sharing the 14.1 km loop or 15.6 km if the dam is closed.
The steamboat used for relays provides a refreshment station, toilets and baggage storage. Relay teams switch while one member runs and the other travels by steamboat to the handover. Wave starts are used and participants are assigned to a wave based on the 10K time provided in registration. Team race rules require all four team members to cross the finish line within 30 seconds of each other. Prizes are awarded to the fastest relay and team categories.
