Vlakte Marathon, Half Marathon and 10.4 km
The Vlakte event is presented by Langeberg Athletics Club and features road races that start in the Heidelberg area and finish in Witsand. Races use starts at several local points and all finishes are at Witsand. The event is held under the rules of ASA, ASWD and World Athletics and is chip timed; no chip means no result.

- 42.2 km marathon
- 21.1 km half marathon
- 10.4 km 10.4 km race
- 5 km fun run
Entry fees vary by distance and include online fees; a temporary licence fee applies for non-licensed entrants. Late entries are accepted at registration on the day before the races for an additional fee. Merchandise available for purchase includes a club short sleeve T-shirt and event socks; T-shirt orders closed on 11 Oct 2026.
Facilities include ablutions and first aid at start and finish areas, drinking and sponging stations approximately every 2.5 to 3.5 km, kilometre markers, and goodie bags for the first 250 entries. Cut-off times are enforced: 10 km two hours, half marathon three hours thirty minutes, marathon six hours. Prize categories include open and age-group awards with medals for marathon and half marathon winners and finisher medals for 5 km and 10.4 km.
