Vlakte Marathon
The Vlakte Marathon is a road race event held on 21 November 2026 with associated activities on 20 November 2026. Races run between Heidelberg and the coastal finish at Witsand / Port Beaufort. The event is presented under the rules of World Athletics, Athletics South Africa and ASWD and uses chip timing; participants must wear a timing chip to receive a result.

- 42.2 km marathon from Heidelberg to Witsand
- 21.1 km half marathon finishing in Witsand
- 10.4 km road race finishing in Witsand
- 5 km Blou Blasie Fun Run in Witsand on 20 November
Entries open online with a stated close date and a late-entry window with a published premium fee. Temporary licence fees apply where indicated. Bus transport is organised between finish and start points; bus tickets are available for purchase during registration.
Race services include drinking and sponging stations approximately every 2.5–3.5 km, first aid at start and finish areas, and ablutions at start and finish. Goodie bags are provided to the first 250 entries. Medals and prize categories are specified for winners and finishers across distances and age groups.
