Vlakte Marathon, Half Marathon and 10.4 km
The Vlakte event on 21 November 2026 is a point to point road race that runs from Heidelberg to Witsand in the Western Cape. All races finish in Witsand. The event is presented by Langeberg Athletics Club and timed by BoutTime.
Distances and entry details:
- 42.2 km Marathon, entry R195, minimum age 20 years
- 21.1 km Half marathon, entry R145, minimum age 16 years
- 10.4 km Race, entry R120, minimum age 14 years
- 5 km Fun Run, entry R50, minimum age 9 years
Entries can be made online; online entries close Monday 16 November. Late entries on 20 November will be accepted for a R20 premium at designated collection points. No refunds are available.
Logistics and race services include organised transport to start points on the morning of the event with return buses from the finish after prize giving; bus tickets cost R50 and are available when registering. Race numbers and timing chips are provided and a timing chip is required to record a result. Drinking and sponging stations are placed about every 3 km, and there are ablution and first aid facilities at the start and finish areas. Distance markers will be placed at every kilometre.
