About the race
Viking Half Marathon is scheduled for February 6, 2027, in Greenwood, Mississippi, with races staged from a central location at 101 W Front St. The event program includes a half marathon, a 10K and a 5K.
The course begins and ends in the historic Cotton Row district and runs through the flat, tree-lined streets of Greenwood. The route includes Grand Boulevard, a street noted for its large oak trees and historic homes and once named "One of America’s 10 Most Beautiful Streets" by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Garden Clubs of America. The course also passes several sites used during filming of the film The Help, which was filmed in Greenwood in 2010.
Local restaurants, residents, and shop owners plan special menus and activities across the race weekend. Event management is handled by Start 2 Finish Event Management. The event lists Viking Range Corporation as the title sponsor and a range of corporate, course, shirt, volunteer, award, and in-kind sponsors.
