Vienna City Marathon - Wiener Städtische Half Marathon
The Wiener Städtische Half Marathon is a 21.0975 km road race through Vienna held on Sunday, 18 April 2027. The course is AIMS‑measured and listed on the World Athletics Global Calendar. The race starts at Wagramer Straße / Reichsbrücke and finishes at Ringstrasse / Burgtheater. Participants must be at least 16 years old.
The event includes music along the route, multiple cheering zones and a concert the day before in the Wiener Musikverein with the Wiener Symphoniker and VCM runners. The race offers on-course support with eight main refreshment stations supplying water and Powerade roughly every 5 km, additional water points and bananas from 15 km. Timekeeping uses an RFID chip in the start number with split times every 5 km and both net and gross times recorded.
Included services and event features listed for the half marathon include an event ticket for public transport on race day tied to the start number, a finisher medal and finisher bag, a personal VCM highlight video, the VCM app with tracking and live results, Expo "Vienna Sports World" with about 100 exhibitors, a Medical Center with free checks at the Expo, organised safety and medical support and official closing runners.
