Veterans 5K Run & Walk presented by ELDRIDGE ROOFING
This event is a community fundraiser to benefit the Veterans Drop-In Center in Rockford, Illinois. The race is the 14th annual edition and takes place at Rock Valley College. The 5K course is listed as USATF certified and is part of the 2026 RRR Circuit. Timing is provided by Tri-3 Sports Timing.
The program includes multiple race options:
- 5K Run and Walk
- 5K Ruck requiring a carried rucksack for the entire distance
- 5K Kids race for ages 17 and under
- 400 yards Kids Fun Run free for children 10 and under
Ruck participants must carry a rucksack for the full 5K. Weight guidelines are specified: participants over 150 lb should carry 20 lb and those under 150 lb should carry 10 lb. The ruck division awards only overall male and female placements, not age group awards.
Awards include dog tag medals for overall male and female winners and the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Cash awards are listed for overall and category winners. One award is given per person. Registration fees noted are $35 for most adult events, $15 for children 17 and under, and no fee for the kids fun run and volunteer registration.
