Vernal Equinox 48-24-12-8 Hour Run
Vernal Equinox is a timed trail event taking place April 2–4, 2027 at Majestic Farm in Batavia, Ohio, organized by Empower Ultra and Endurance Races. The event offers multiple timed-distance options on a repeated 2 mile loop that passes through wooded trails, meadows, and sections of gravel road. A large barn is located at the start/finish area of every loop.
The event is cupless: each participant receives a reusable cup with their race packet and aid stations do not provide paper cups. Typical ultrarunning aid station food is available along with hot items such as homemade soup, grilled cheese, and fresh coffee; vegan options will be provided. Free clean horse stalls are available for use as staging, napping, or storage; stalls may be shared and the closest stalls are prioritized for longer distance runners. RV hookups are available for an additional fee.
Additional event features include custom finisher awards handmade in Ohio, Rabbit long sleeve shirts with a registration deadline to guarantee shirts, belt buckles for select mileage achievements, and cash prizes for new 24 and 48 hour course records. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Project Congo. The event includes an Athletes With Disability (AWD) division with specific entry criteria and guide rules; the course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
