Vernal Equinox 48-24-12-8 Hour Run
The Vernal Equinox event takes place at Majestic Farm in Batavia, Ohio on April 2–4, 2027 and offers several timed trail running and rucking options. The course is a 2 mile loop that runs through wooded trails, meadows, and a gravel road, with a large barn at the start/finish of each loop. Aid station food includes typical ultrarunning fare plus hot items such as homemade soup, grilled cheese, and fresh coffee; vegan options are available.
The event is cupless; each participant receives a reusable cup and no paper cups are provided. Free clean horse stalls near the start/finish are available for staging, napping, or storage and can be shared between runners; four runners can comfortably share a stall. RV hookups are available for a fee. Race swag includes a Rabbit long sleeve shirt (registration deadline for guaranteed shirts noted by the organizer), custom handmade finisher awards from Ohio, and belt buckles for certain mileage achievements. Cash prizes of $250 are offered for breaking the 24 hour and 48 hour course records; current course records are listed for the 48 hour and 24 hour events.
The event includes an Athletes With Disability division with specific entry criteria; the course is not suitable for athletes in wheelchairs. A 12 hour rucking division is offered with weight standards based on body weight. No refunds are issued; a tiered deferral policy applies and there are no bib transfers.
