Ventnor Mile and Independence Day Run : July 3, 2026
The Ventnor Mile is an annual one mile out and back running event held on the Ventnor City Boardwalk near New Haven Avenue. The course starts on the Boardwalk at New Haven Avenue, turns at Martindale Avenue and the Boardwalk, and finishes at New Haven Avenue. The course is not certified with USATF.
Registration is online only with pre registration through June 14, 2026 at a fee of $20 and a child price of $15 for those under 11. From June 15 through race day the fee is $25 and the child price is $20 for those under 11. Packet pickup and race day registration take place inside the Ventnor Community Building behind the library on Newport Avenue. Shirts are guaranteed to runners who pre registered. Remaining shirts are distributed first come first served. Available T shirt sizes include Youth Large, Small, Medium, Large, XLarge and XXLarge.
Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 8 and under, 9 to 11, 12 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 65, 66 to 75, and 76 plus. A post race awards ceremony is planned at the Newport Avenue stage during a band break. The event features live music, food trucks and fireworks and is organized by Ventnor City municipal departments with community sponsorship.
