Venice Beach Half Marathon
The Venice Beach Half Marathon is a road race held in Venice Beach each May. The course runs through notable local areas, including the Venice Canals, Abbot Kinney Boulevard, and Muscle Beach. The event combines multiple race distances and community activities along the beachfront neighborhood.

- 13.1 mile half marathon
- 5K run
- 1 mile dash
- Grunion Run - kids run event
Every finisher receives a soft cotton race t-shirt and a finisher medal. Packet pickup is available in advance and is recommended but not mandatory. Organized training programs are offered in partnership with Sound Running, with structured 8 to 12 week plans for the 5K and half marathon distances and optional track workouts. Additional community training runs and shakeout runs are hosted by local partners.
The event is produced by Generic Events and features local and national sponsors. A portion of sponsorship dollars and participant fundraising is directed to local schools in the Venice Beach, Mar Vista, and Marina del Rey area. FEATSTREET Inc. serves as the fiscal receiver for donations that benefit area schools. Fundraising options include team fundraising and sponsoring mile markers along the course.
