Veluwse Ultra Trail (VUT100)
The Veluwse Ultra Trail (VUT100) is an ultra trail event in the Veluwe region with start and finish at Landgoedhotel Stakenberg in Elspeet, Netherlands. The event offers multiple ultra distances and two distinct 50 km loops that form the longer routes.
Distances:
- 50 km (each loop can be run individually)
- 75 km (one 25 km section plus one 50 km loop)
- 100 km (both 50 km loops back-to-back)
The northern loop passes the Hendriksbos, Leugenhorst, and Beekhuizerzand. The southern loop goes through the Elspeterbosch, Vierhouten, municipal forests of Nunspeet, and the Elspeterheide. Route files are available as GPX.
Practical notes include no cups at aid stations, so participants must bring a race cup or flask. Runners should be self-sufficient for 10–15 km stretches. Drop bag support is provided when participants return to basecamp for the longer distances. Finishers of the ultras receive a UTMB index. A separate event medal is available for purchase; medals are large (9x9 cm) and sold separately from entry.
The event has a maximum physical attendee capacity of 700 and provides advice on mandatory personal equipment such as navigation, a charged phone, a race vest with at least 1 liter of fluids, basic first aid items, an emergency blanket, rain protection, and sufficient nutrition.
