About the race
The Utrechtse Heuvelrug Ultra Trail (UHUT100) Winter edition is a trail running event held in the expansive nature of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The event is based at Molecaten Park Landgoed Ginkelduin in Leersum. Participants navigate the course using GPX on their own devices, as the routes are not marked with physical signs.
The event offers three main participation options:
- 100 km (divided over two days, consisting of two different 50 km loops)
- 50 km Rhenen loop (held on Saturday)
- 50 km Doorn loop (held on Sunday)
The Saturday loop towards Rhenen involves approximately 690 m of elevation gain and traverses the area between Leersum, Amerongen, Elst, and Rhenen. The Sunday loop towards Doorn features approximately 450 m of elevation gain and includes single tracks, heathland, and sandy sections.
There are three aid stations located along the route for each day, plus one at the finish line. The event operates with a no-plastic-cups policy; participants must bring their own bottle or collapsible cup. Mandatory gear includes a mobile phone, a race vest with at least 1 liter of liquid, a first aid kit, an emergency blanket, a rain jacket, and sufficient nutrition. Finishers of the ultra distances receive a UTMB Index. This event is part of the Dutch Ultra Series (DUS2027). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
