Utrechtse Heuvelrug Ultra Trail (UHUT100)
The Utrechtse Heuvelrug Ultra Trail (UHUT100) is a nature-focused running event held in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, one of the most prominent natural areas in the Netherlands. The course takes participants through a varied landscape featuring narrow singletracks, rolling hills, wide forest paths, and expansive heathlands. The event is organized around two distinct loops of approximately 50 km each, which can be combined or completed separately to achieve different total distances.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 50 km (Amerongen loop or Doorn loop)
- 75 km
- 100 km (completed in a single session)
- 100 km (split over two days, with 50 km on Saturday and 50 km on Sunday)
The event is run using GPX navigation, and participants must be self-sufficient between well-stocked aid stations. Specific mandatory gear is required for safety, including a mobile phone, a race vest with at least 1 liter of hydration, a first aid kit, an emergency blanket, and a reusable race cup, as no disposable cups are provided. Finishers of these ultra distances automatically receive a UTMB Index.
