Uranium-235k Run/Walk, Bridgman, Michigan
The Uranium-235k Run/Walk takes place on May 16, 2026 at the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Bridgman, Michigan. This is the event's second annual edition and it is organized on plant property.
The route runs on the Cook Plant property and passes visible facility landmarks including the containment domes, the Radioactive Materials Building, the Switchyard, and the Visitor's Center. The entry fee is $30 and includes a finisher's medal and Uranium-235k memorabilia. Awards will be presented to top finishers in each age bracket, and a drawing for door prizes will be held.
Logistics follow facility rules. Packet pick-up occurs on race day and closes prior to the event; there is no race day registration. Access on race day closes before final route setup, and only passenger vehicles are allowed onsite; buses, recreational vehicles, and similar vehicles are not permitted. Only badged employees should use the Employee registration option; non-badged family members and friends must use the Public option.
Age and safety rules: children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent onsite, and participants must be at least 13 to race. The Cook Nuclear Plant is governed by federal laws that prohibit certain items on site, including alcoholic beverages, illegal controlled substances, firearms, ammunition, explosives or incendiary devices. Video recording by the public, including Go-Pros, cell phones, and drones, is not allowed on site; snapshots are allowed at the registration area, the starting area, and the finish area.
