Up The Creek : Sunshine Coast trail races
Up The Creek is a trail race event on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, running from Langdale into the trails of Roberts Creek and back. The event includes the following distances:
- 50K
- 25K
- Kiddo's run for children, run as a community event without prize categories
The 50K features four well stocked aid stations plus one water-only station; drop bags are available at the midway aid station. The 25K has two well stocked aid stations. Aid stations offer Precision Fuel and Hydration products, drink mix, savoury snacks, candies and water. This is a cupless event: a foldable cup, flask, or bladder is mandatory for both the 50K and 25K to reduce waste.
Timing is chip-based on the race bib; runners must wear the bib visibly on the front. Runners must carry the route with them; GPX and Strava files are provided on the race pages. Music is permitted only using one earbud or bone-conducting headphones to remain aware of other trail users. Trail and FSRs are shared with other users and vehicles; participants should be observant and considerate.
Package pickup takes place at Sunny Running Co. on the day before the race and again on race morning; a piece of ID is required for bib collection. Dogs must be on a lead at the start and finish areas and are not permitted to run the races.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue. The event acknowledges that it takes place on the traditional, unceded territories of the shíshálh and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw peoples. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
