Up & Away Run & Ruck : Longview, TX
The Up & Away Run & Ruck takes place over two days in Longview, Texas on June 12 and June 13, 2026. The weekend features a night event and morning events that include running and rucking on paved city trail and neighborhood roads near the Great Texas Balloon Race.

- 6K Sky High Run or Ruck
- 13K Sky High Run or Ruck
All participants receive an event TEE. Friday’s 7 mile night challenge requires a headlamp and awards a finisher medal; ruck finishers receive a ruck patch and there are 1st place awards and a slow poke award. Saturday events provide finisher medals, ruck patches for ruck finishers, age group awards for runs, and 1st through 3rd place awards for runs and rucks. Prize money is listed for top three finishers in the 13K run.
The course is fully marked and supported with aid station food and hydration and event photography. Ruck participants must carry a rucksack, weight vest, or weight carrier and bring hydration and any needed medication. Weight requirements specify 30 lb for participants over 150 lbs and 20 lb for participants under 150 lbs. A portion of event proceeds benefits a local men’s addiction recovery home in Longview.
