Inclusive Road Race in Dexter
The Unified 5K and AdaptXpo is an inclusive road race held at Hudson Mills Metro Park in Dexter, Michigan. This is the second annual occurrence of the event, which is designed to accommodate a wide variety of participation methods, including running, walking, rowing, and rolling. The event serves as a fundraiser for AdaptX education, research, fitness programming, and grant initiatives.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 5k Walk/Run (Early Start)
- 5k Run and Roll
- 1 Mile Walk, Run, and Roll
The 5k Early Start option is specifically intended for participants who expect to take more than one hour to complete the course. This allows for all athletes to experience the finish line environment alongside other participants.
In addition to the road races, the event features the AdaptXpo. This exposition includes various vendors and clinics that focus on health, accessibility, assistive technology, and adaptive sports organizations. The event brings together athletes with and without disabilities to participate in physical activity in a shared space.
