Event Overview
UltraTrax Wachusett is a timed mountain event taking place in Princeton, Massachusetts. This summit-driven course traverses the terrain of Wachusett Mountain, utilizing a loop system that covers ski slopes, wooded single-track trails, and rocky pitches. The route winds through pine and hardwood forests before reaching exposed upper mountain sections. On clear days, the summit offers views across Central Massachusetts and toward the Boston skyline.
Participants can choose from four different distances based on the number of completed loops:
- 7 miles (one full loop)
- 14 miles (two full loops)
- 21 miles (three full loops)
- 28 miles (four full loops)
Participation Details
Although it is a timed event, it is not classified as a traditional race. Participants have a 10-hour time limit to complete their chosen distance. There is an option to carry weighted vests or rucks weighing 10, 20, or 35 lbs. Finishers receive a custom t-shirt and a velcro patch, while those completing the 21-mile or 28-mile courses qualify for an UltraTrax Grey Wolf medal.
The event site at 499 Mountain Road provides complimentary onsite parking. The location features a base camp under a ski lodge deck with food trucks and refreshments available after the trek. Additional onsite facilities include a mountain coaster, waterpark, and zip lines for spectators and participants.
