About the race
The Ultra Trail Serra da Freita 2027 is a trail running event in Arouca, Portugal, organized by Confraria Trotamontes in partnership with the municipality of Arouca. It takes place on 26 and 27 June 2027 and includes multiple competitive races and a noncompetitive walk. All races start at Praça Brandão de Vasconcelos and finish at Escola Secundária de Arouca.
Distances and basic elevation:
- 101 km Elite Trail 100 km individual or teams of 4, ~6900 m positive elevation
- 66 km Ultra Trail, ~4200 m positive elevation
- 31 km Trail, ~1700 m positive elevation
- 19 km Mini Trail, ~1040 m positive elevation
- 12 km Walk, noncompetitive
Routes use trails, levadas, forest roads and some public roads and are marked with orange fabric tape and signs. Cutoff times and control points apply; electronic timing with chips is used. Mandatory equipment is specified for longer races and may be checked; missing mandatory items incur penalties. Aid stations provide food and drink but no disposable cups. The Elite 100 km allows team participation with one chip passed between team members and requires teams to handle their own transition transport.
