About the race
Les 4 Massifs is presented as an UT4M event in the heart of the French Alps around Grenoble, with a scheduled rendezvous in July 2027. The event highlights four mountain ranges that surround the city: Vercors, Taillefer, Belledonne and Chartreuse. Each massif is described with its landscape and outdoor offerings rather than specific race distances. The Vercors is characterized by karst plateaus, vertical gorges, varied vegetation and a history as a natural fortress during World War II.
Lans en Vercors is mentioned for winter and summer mountain activities and for attractions such as a panoramic passerelle called Vertige des Cimes located at the top of the Téléski de La Combe des Virets. That passerelle projects 2.1 m over the void, offers a 360° view, and is free and accessible to visitors. The Taillefer is presented as a smaller massif linked to Belledonne with high summits and mountain trails, nearby alpine and family ski stations including Alpe du Grand Serre and the Col d Ornon, plus summer routes, via ferrata and mountain refuges. Belledonne is described for its varied altitudinal belts and as a host territory for an UT4M course. Chartreuse is noted for its protected Parc naturel régional, extensive marked trails, a station de trail and an eco trail approach that combines sporting events with preservation measures.
